HCV34 Hammer Control Valve
OPERATION
The valve is commonly used on excavators and similar machines for actuating hydraulic hammers, but has many other applications. The valve is installed in the main pump pressure line of an excavator or similar. When the solenoid is energised, a regulated flow is diverted to the auxiliary port, and the remainder continues from the “out” port to the original circuit. The auxiliary flow and pressure are adjustable on the valve up to 120 litres/min., and 210 bar. Auxiliary flow remains virtually constant up to relief pressure setting, regardlessof load variations.
FEATURES
- Compact.
- Steel housing.
- Stainless steel flow adjuster assembly.
- All cartridges 100% factory tested.
- Desired settings may be locked.
- Captive flow adjuster cannot be backed out of valve.
SPECIFICATIONS
- OPERATING PRESSURE: machine circuit 345 bar (5000 p.s.I.),auxiliary circuit 210 bar (3000 p.s.I.) max.
- MEDIA: general purpose hydraulic fluids @ -40º c to +120º c.
- FLOW: inlet – max.170 l./min., auxiliary – max.120 l./min.
- WEIGHT: 4.8 Kg.
- MATERIALS: All parts are steel, except seals. Standard seals are Buna N with teflon backups. Viton seals are available on special order.

IMPORTANT PRECAUTIONS
When the valve is switched off, a residual pressure of approx. 7-10 bar is present at the auxiliary port, and may cause flow to continue through the auxiliary circuit in some circumstances. In this case, a 10 bar check valve installed in the auxiliary line will prevent this loss. All ports are B.S.P. parallel, and appropriate fittings must be used. Tapered fittings are not acceptable. The existing circuit of the machine must be protected by a pressure limiting device on the inlet or outlet line. Pressure relief protection within the valve functions on the auxiliary port only. The drain connection must be returned directly to tank via aseparate line to prevent adverse valve performance. Failure to correctly install or set these valves may result in damage to property, personal injury or death.
NOTES
VALVES ARE NOT PRESET, AND MUST BE ADJUSTED TO SUIT EACH APPLICATION PRIOR TO USE, USING APPROPRIATE TESTING EQUIPMENT.ALL DETAILS ARE APPROXIMATE, AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE.
